Before your Appointment
What is my appointment going to be like? What should I expect?
When a patient sees me for the first time, I always remind them that “today is not a decision-making day.” The initial visit is about fact-gathering, listening to your story, and learning more about you. I’ll then examine your concerns, review x-rays if you have them, and begin to build a list of options for you. I want you to feel comfortable and relaxed, so I can understand how best to help you.
Can I bring someone along with me to my appointment?
Yes, of course. Feel free to have family members or friends join you in your consultation. Many patients find it is helpful to have support in the room, even just as an extra set of ears to remember the details of the visit.
After your Appointment
What are the next steps after the appointment?
We have covered a lot of information in your appointment, which can sometimes be a lot to process. Don’t worry, that is very normal. If the options we’ve discussed fit your needs and you would like to move forward, please feel free to contact my Care Coordinator, Rhodora, and she will gladly walk you through the next steps. She’s an expert in helping navigate insurance, the pre-operative process, and answering any questions you might have.
Finally, as always, please contact us with any questions you may have after your appointment. Your care is our top priority. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, that’s what we’re here for!
