Daniel J. Marek, MD

Daniel J. Marek, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. Dr. Marek completed the prestigious Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center and practices at the TCO Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina – Crosstown and Waconia locations. He provides complete care of the hand, wrist, and elbow in both the adult and pediatric populations. Surgeries are predominantly performed at the Two Twelve Surgery Center in Chaska, but also at Crosstown Surgery Center in Edina and Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

In his free time, Dr. Marek enjoys golf and fly fishing as well as spending time with his wife and three sons who are very active in sports. Dr. Marek coaches youth baseball and serves as the Team Physician for Chanhassen High School.

Clinical Interest

Elbow care, including cubital tunnel release, elbow arthroscopy, both simple and complex fracture care, distal biceps repair/reconstruction, elbow replacement elbow joint revision, and elbow joint replacement

Hand care, including fracture care, carpal tunnel release (both open and endoscopic), trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s contracture management (needle aponeurotomy, collagenase injection, and open release), CMC arthroplasty, MP silicone and pyrocarbon arthroplasty, PIP silicone and pyrocarbon arthroplasty, tendon transfers and repairs, nerve repairs, and mass excisions

Shoulder care, including fracture care

Sports medicine, including tennis and golfer’s elbow, pediatric fractures, little leaguer’s elbow, and UCL reconstruction (Tommy John procedure), SL ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic management of TFCC tears, and skier’s/gamekeeper’s thumb repair

Pediatric care, including trigger thumb, ligament injuries and fractures

Wrist care, including fracture care, De Quervain’s release, wrist arthroscopy, ganglion cyst excision and Kienbock’s disease

Dr. Marek also specializes in upper extremity sports injuries and recreational injuries

Ryan Bakko, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant who works in conjunction with Dr. Daniel Marek to coordinate excellent orthopedic patient care. Ryan sees patients in the clinic setting along with Dr. Marek, assists in surgery, and helps with the post-operative care and orthopedic management of patients.
