MedX Neck & Back Rehabilitation

Twin Cites Neck and Back Rehabilitation Specialists

MedX is recognized as the gold standard for treating and reducing chronic back and neck pain and dysfunction through specific spinal strengthening. MedX is computerized equipment therapists use to test the exact level of core weakness and to isolate specific neck and back muscles; maximizing the strengthening of the muscles and range of motion.

Weakness of the core muscles can lead to conditions such as herniated discs and degenerative joint disease. A strong spine provides a strong foundation that allows for healthy spaces between the vertebrae, which helps spinal compression. MedX allows for isolated strengthening of the back and/or neck to develop the supporting muscles of the spine. This often times leads to decreased pain and can help to prevent more invasive procedures, such as surgery.

Patients attend therapy for 6-12 weeks, twice a week and are closely monitored by a physician, who follows-up every four weeks. The goal is to improve strength and endurance, which leads to increased function, decreased pain, improved quality of live, independence and the decreased need for on-going spinal care. Patients will leave the program with the knowledge of proper body mechanics as well as a home exercise program to maintain their progress.

The MedX program involves:

  •   Flexibility
  •   Strengthening/Stabilization
  •   Body Mechanics/Posture Education
  •   Lifting techniques
  •   Cardiovascular training
