On the evening of Nov. 24 nearly a dozen Minnesota Prosthetics and Orthotics and Twin Cities Orthopedics employees volunteered at the 6th annual Soles4Souls shoe giveaway. Held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Community in Minneapolis, Soles4Souls is part of a national effort to help provide shoes to adults and children in need. Volunteers helped to provide more than 350 people with new shoes, socks and basic foot exams.

Chris Boosalis, Director of Minnesota Prosthetics and Orthotics, helped organize the inaugural event in 2006 with Lance Silverman, MD, and has continued to be actively involved as it has grown. “We provided shoes for 73 individuals our first year. Over the past two years we have given away nearly 800 pairs of shoes.” The Minneapolis giveaway has been the largest in the country for the past 3 years. “The generosity of our volunteers and those who donate shoes is what makes this event so successful,” said Boosalis.
