Practice Overview
Clare K. McCarthy, MD specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. She has performed more than a thousand endoscopic carpal tunnel releases and treats osteoarthritis and rheumatoid problems of the hand and wrist. She also cares for fractures, nerve problems, and tendonitis. She has been named four times by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine as a Top Doctor by her peers. She was also named one of Minnesota Monthly’s top doctors for women in 2009 and 2010.
Dr. McCarthy is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She has been practicing in the Twin Cities since 1997.
Education
Dr. McCarthy graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Massachusetts. She also completed a one year research fellowship in orthopedics at the University of Massachusetts and published several articles. She completed a hand and upper-extremity fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
