He recently received subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. 

Dr. Smith practices at the Minnesota Orthopedic Sports Medicine Institute (MOSMI) clinics.

Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery.
