Practice Overview
Working exclusively since 1988 in hand therapy clinics of the north metro, Maxine designs custom treatment programs for all types of hand, wrist and elbow injuries and conditions; guiding clients to maximal functional outcomes is highly rewarding for her, both professionally and personally. Specialty work includes wound care, scar and edema management, kinesiotaping, upper extremity static and dynamic custom splinting, tendon, ligament and fracture recovery, cumulative injury recovery, ergonomic education, home exercise program education as well as activity of daily living and adaptive equipment instruction.
Maxine also has ten years of clinic experience as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapist at a local metropolitan hospital. She actively participated in a dynamic, team-oriented treatment approach for clients with neurological and orthopedic needs, including CVA, head injury, spinal cord injury, total hip replacement and hand injuries. Her experience base also includes supervision of occupational therapy staff and students, including mentorship.
Education
Maxine earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Minnesota. She subsequently earned her certification as a Hand Therapist in 1994.
